Types of watches

The market is flooded with various types and models of watches. And incase you are planning o buy one it is recommended that you have a basic information on the various types of watches on offer to make the best choice for your wrist.

Apart from the general fragmentation as ladies and gents watches the watches can be classified based on the technology they use for operation. Based on this parameter we have classified watches as
Quartz Watches: The most popular and the most common types of watches are the Quartz watches which are more conventional. Under the conditions in a watch quartz crystals vibrate over 32,000 times a second. Monitoring these vibrations ensures really accurate time keeping. Quartz watches lose only about 10seconds of time a month. Quartz watch batteries also only require replacing once every one or two years.
Analog watches: Another popular type of watch is the Analog watch or the standard watch. Analog watch faces have numbers, Roman numerals, or tick marks indicating intervals of time while digital faces provide an exact readout in hours, minutes and seconds.
Digital watches: These are generally regarded as the high-end and sometimes specialized watches due to the features they offer. Digital watches often have extra features such as depth sensors, Global Positioning System (GPS), altimeters, calculators, phone books, and compasses.
